2007 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for the Borough Networks. In honor of National Mentoring Month the Manhattan Networks will explore African American and Latino Male Volunteer Recruitment and Retention with a renowned expert in the field, Mr. Rodney M. Fuller. (Mr. Fuller is currently the Executive Director of the Male Development and Empowerment Center at Medgar Evers College (City University of New York). He is a leading consultant and trainer for not-for-profit organizations with over 20 years of social service experience.)
There are also lots of new things on the horizon for the Networks (see below)—opportunities to be published and recognized for the work that you do!

Overall Goal of the Networks:Â
The Borough Mentoring Networks were launched in the summer of 2001 as an initiative to link youth serving agencies across the 5 boroughs of New York City . The goal of the Networks is to expose the benefits of mentoring, share best practices of youth development, volunteer management, and program management to all of the 5 boroughs. In order to achieve this goal, agencies join together as a coalition, allowing for an elaborate networking system of sharing knowledge, ideas and solutions.Â

You do not have to have a mentoring program to be part of the networks.
